SDCatholic Pilgrimage of Hope for Creation

The Diocese of San Diego Creation Care Ministry will be hosting a pilgrimage to the beauty of the desert and the Salton Sea between November 14-16, 2025 to highlight the gift of the desert, the environmental challenges of the Salton Sea, and the poverty and ecological injustice that has historically characterized the Imperial Valley. Such action marks not only the 10th year of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ encyclical on “Care of our Common Home,” but also the Church’s Jubilee Year, which calls us to be “Pilgrims of Hope.” Click here to register for more information.

Walk to Mary

The Walk to Mary has become a pilgrimage like no other in the world.  The pilgrimages starts with St. Joseph (at the National Shrine of St. Joseph) and walk to Mary (at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion) to get to Jesus.  the annual pilgrimage has impacted lives and filled hearts with many blessings from the Holy Family.

The 22 mile walk spiritually prepares us for our destination – America's only Church-approved Marian apparition site, where in 1859, the Blessed Mother appeared to Adele Brise on the site of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Champion, Wisconsin.
