Walking Together: Pilgrimage Against Racism for University Students

University students are invited to join a six mile pilgrimage praying for racial justice and reconciliation in our local community by walking together from St. Paul into Minneapolis. We will traverse Lake Street, stop for a reflection at George Floyd Square, and conclude with prayer and a meal at St. Leonard of Port-Maurice, a parish established in 1941 to serve the African American Catholics of Minneapolis.

Schedule:

9:30 AM - Opening Prayer Service & Introductions at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel

10:00 AM - Begin walking

12:00 PM - Arrive at George Floyd Square (approx.)

12:45 PM - Arrive at St. Leonard of Port Maurice for closing prayer and lunch (approx.)

1:30 PM - Bus(es) take pilgrims back to UST

Cost: $10/person (includes lunch and transportation from St Leonard’s back to the University of St. Thomas)

Thanks to the University of St. Thomas, St. John's University, St. Catherine University, and the Newman Center at St. Cloud State University for partnering with us in bringing groups of students to participate in the pilgrimage.
