Gethsemani Labor Day Pilgrimage

Abbey of Gethsemani

Saturday, August 31st

Knowing many Notre Dame fans and alumni will be descending on Louisville over Labor Day weekend for the Notre Dame football game, MCP wants to give people an opportunity to make a pilgrimage down to the Abbey of Gethsemani, famous as the home of Thomas Merton. This pilgrimage by van will be led by MCP founder Will Peterson who has spent much time at the Abbey and looks forward to seeing some of his friends there while introducing pilgrims to monastic life as lived by the Trappists and to the place in which Thomas Merton wrote so much to influence the development of American Catholicism.
