Project Lead, National Eucharistic Pilgrimage

 

Modern Catholic Pilgrim (MCP) is working with the National Eucharistic Congress to lead the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage (NEP), four separate walked pilgrimages featuring Eucharistic Procession starting in CA, MN, TX, and CT that will converge at the Congress in July 2024. We are looking to add two full-time NEP Project Leads for 18 months from January 2023 to August 2024 with the potential for continuing in a similar role beyond that time period. Each Pilgrimage Lead will be responsible for the development and implementation of two of the four pilgrimage routes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead MCP’s collaboration with dioceses, parishes, and ministries along each route, especially in developing the Hospitality Network that will provide for the pilgrims during their ~70 days on the road

  • Manage relationships with local government and public safety officials regarding any necessary permits, etc., for the pilgrims

  • Assist in the recruitment of Core Team pilgrims and serve as their direct supervisor through the entire NEP experience

  • Lead the development of events (such as large-scale Eucharistic Processions, nights of adoration, and hosted talks, etc.) in cities along each NEP route, working with local diocesan and civic leadership to ensure success

  • Manage the integration of part-time pilgrims into the pilgrimages along each route

  • Travel each route in the summer of 2023 to learn about the paths the pilgrims will walk and to connect with partners along the route

  • Communicate effectively with MCP’s partners in the NEP by providing regular reports on the routes overseen

  • Proactively and regularly communicate and collaborate with diverse groups of individuals about the NEP and its importance

  • Collect evaluation data; document event outcomes and lessons learned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Committed to the goals of the National Eucharistic Revival, the National Eucharistic Congress, and the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage

  • Strong ability to communicate with people across diverse backgrounds and interests

  • Ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience working with diocesan leadership groups or the equivalent

  • Ideal candidate will have 2+ years of event planning

  • Highly organized and possessing effective time, budget, and risk management skills

  • Adeptness with digital tools such as Zoom, Google Drive, etc.

 

Pay Range: Commensurate with experience

Director of Pilgrimage Programming

 

Modern Catholic Pilgrim is looking for a recent college graduate to oversee its pilgrimage programming as the non-profit organization manages its growth. The Director would work on MCP's multi-day pilgrimages for young adults, one-day pilgrimages, school pilgrimages, and Walking Together and Pilgrims for Mary projects.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead MCP’s collaboration with dioceses, parishes, and ministries for pilgrimages, especially in developing the Hospitality Network for multi-day pilgrimages for young adults

  • Manage relationships with local government and public safety officials regarding any necessary permits, etc., for the pilgrimages

  • Assist in the recruitment of pilgrims and volunteer pilgrimage leaders

  • Lead the development of MCP's school pilgrimage programming

  • Expand the reach of MCP's Pilgrims for Mary and Walking Together projects

  • Travel to lead pilgrimages frequently around the U.S.

  • Communicate effectively with MCP’s partners by providing regular reports on the work MCP is doing

  • Proactively and regularly communicate and collaborate with diverse groups of individuals about pilgrimage in the Catholic tradition and its importance

  • Collect evaluation data; document event outcomes and lessons learned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commitment to the tenets of Catholic doctrine and Catholic social teaching

  • Strong ability to communicate with people across diverse backgrounds and interests

  • Ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience serving in leadership positions

  • Ideal candidate will have 2+ years of event planning

  • Highly organized and possessing effective time, budget, and risk management skills

  • Adeptness with digital tools such as Zoom, Google Drive, etc.

 

Pay Range: $30,000+
