2020 Pilgrimage Calendar

Dates are subject to change due to the coronavirus pandemic and more pilgrimages will likely be added to the list as we move into 2020. Contact us through email to get put on the interest list for any of the pilgrimages below.

January 5th-9th: Ascension Heights Formation Pilgrimage, San Diego, CA

Mission San Diego through Mission San Luis Rey to Mission San Juan Capistrano

(5 days, 80 miles; closed group)

April 3rd: Friday of Sorrows Pilgrimages, San Diego, Chicago, Minneapolis

Short one-day pilgrimages in numerous cities to honor Mary in Lent that all include meals and fellowship afterwards

May 15th-22nd: Augustinian Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia

Augustinian friars walk from NYC to Philadelphia to honor St. Rita of Cascia on her feast day

June 26th-28th: Father Serra Pilgrimage, San Diego, CA

Mission San Luis Rey to Mission San Diego to honor Fr. Serra's feast day

(3 days, 50 miles)

July 25th: St. James's Feast Day Pilgrimage. Minneapolis, MN

A short one-day pilgrimage from the Basilica of St. Mary to the site of George Floyd's murder to kick off a series of pilgrimages for justice hosted by the Basilica

August 19th-21st: San Louis Rey Pilgrimage, San Diego, CA

Two pilgrimage routes, one from the north and the other from the south, come together at Mission San Louis Rey to take part in the Mission's spectacular celebration of its patron's feast day

October 8th-12th: Mepkin Abbey Pilgrimage, Charleson, SC

A pilgrimage to the Trappist Mepkin Abbey for young adults who will then be hosted by the monks for a weekend of reflection

October 4th: St. Francis Pilgrimages, San Francisco, CA and Tucson, AZ

Pilgrimages in various cities to sites connected to the saint with meals and fellowship afterwards

October 20th-22nd: San Juan Capistrano Pilgrimage, San Juan Capistrano, CA

A pilgrimage to Mission San Juan Capistrano to honor its patron's feast day

(2 days, 32 miles)

December 19th: Augustinian Advent Pilgrimage, San Diego, CA

A one day Advent pilgrimage in the Augustinian spirit

Still to have a date set: Mission San Gabriel to Mission San Fernando, Los Angeles, CA
